Since 2017, Luxury London Media has worked with the Royal Automobile Club, one of the world’s most prestigious private members’ clubs and the globally recognised home of British motoring, to design, write and publish its official magazine, Pell-Mell & Woodcote.

With over 17,000 members, the Club offers exceptional accommodation, hospitality, sporting and leisure facilities across two landmark locations: its historic Pall Mall clubhouse in central London, and Woodcote Park, a 350-acre country estate near Epsom in Surrey.

OBJECTIVE

The Royal Automobile Club approached Luxury London Media with a clear brief: to respectfully refresh the design and editorial direction of Pell-Mell & Woodcote, ensuring the magazine remained engaging, relevant and visually distinctive. The goal was not to reinvent the publication, but to refine and elevate it, maintaining its traditional strengths while enhancing its appeal to its members.

This meant evolving the magazine’s tone of voice and editorial mix, ensuring that every edition captured the richness and diversity of Club life. The content needed to reflect not only the Club’s deep connection to British motoring but also its broader cultural, social and sporting activities. Over the years, the visual presentation of Pell-Mell & Woodcote has been carefully refined, with a clean, elegant and timeless design. Equally important has been the ability to manage the entire production process to the highest standard, from initial planning through to final delivery.


EXECUTION

Luxury London Media assembled a team of specialist editors, writers and designers with extensive experience across motoring, heritage, lifestyle and luxury publishing. Each issue of Pell-Mell & Woodcote is developed through close collaboration with the Royal Automobile Club, ensuring the content reflects the tone, values and interests of its membership.

The editorial approach blends Club news and member stories with original features on British motoring history, craftsmanship, travel, art and lifestyle. Coverage of key events – such as the Club’s motoring heritage celebrations, dining experiences and sporting fixtures – is paired with interviews, profiles and behind-the-scenes insights that bring the Club’s unique world to life. Every word is crafted with care, and each piece is supported by high-quality, commissioned photography that captures the spirit of the Club.

From flat planning and editorial development through to copywriting, sub-editing, design, proofing and print fulfilment, Luxury London Media manages every stage of the magazine’s production. Every issue is delivered to members with precision, polish and a deep respect for the Club’s legacy.
